The first Lunch in the Square of the season is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Veterans’ Square, with entertainment provided by the Bradford Area High School music program
Participating restaurants include The Landmark Cafe, Chu Lee Gardens, John Williams European Pastry Shop, Chef’s 117, The Downbeat, The Sweet Shoppe of Kane, Dawggonit’s, and A Slice of the ’80s.
“Lunch in The Square is a favorite event in our community and continues to grow each year,” said Main Street Manager Chelsea Schwab. “This year we are proud to have nine restaurants that will be participating in our Lunch in The Square events throughout the summer.”
She said several returning restaurants have attracted loyal Lunch attendees over the past few years and have helped the event grow.
Four new restaurants, The Landmark Café, The Downbeat, Kabob’s and The Sweet Shoppe, will add even more to the variety of lunch specials at the event, she said, noting that The Sweet Shoppe reached out and wanted to be a part of the event to sell ice cream.
“The BAHS Music Program always attracts a large crowd,” Schwab added. “These kids are very talented and always make the event fun and welcoming. With the talent from our very own high school and this lineup of excellent Bradford area restaurants, this is one Lunch in The Square you don’t want to miss.”
Marilyn Horne Way will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the event, and free parking will be available on Pine Street and from the head of Main Street across from the Square to Congress Street during the event hours.
Lunch in the Square is sponsored by The Downtown Bradford Business District Authority.
