Jasmine Freer, 13, is a member of the Port Allegany Lucky Horseshoes and McKean County Teen Council, and she is the featured member of McKean County 4-H clubs for May/June.
Jasmine’s 4-H projects include caring for a horse and miniature horse and serving on Teen Council.
She has held offices including vice president, treasurer and news reporter.
Jasmine said, “My most favorite 4-H memory is when I was leaving the show ring at the District VIII Horse Show held at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. I didn’t know I had qualified for the state horse show until I saw my mother crying so I started crying too.”
When asked why she became a 4-H member, she explained, “I joined 4-H because it teaches a lot of good things. It teaches responsibility, kindness and friendship. I have met a lot of new people and have learned a lot in the four years I have been in 4-H.”
