The National Weather Service of State College has issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. today for central Pennsylvania, including McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter counties.
Severe thunderstorms are being called for tonight. AccuWeather says that today will bring thunderstorms, some severe, and tonight, there will be a couple of showers.
The McKean County Department of Emergency Services is urging people to remain vigilant and to take cover in a basement or another secure area away from windows if conditions turn threatening.
“Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings,” Elk County Office of Emergency Services stated on its Facebook page.
