COUDERSPORT –– Four Coudersport players collected doubled and the Falcons jumped out to an early lead, taking down Cameron County, 14-4, in five innings in Northern Allegheny baseball action.
Kullen Crosby and Eli Ayers each went 2-for-4, as Crosby slugged two doubles and an RBI and Ayers had a two-run double. Owen Chambers was 2-for-3 with a run-scoring double, while Elliott Hyte was 2-for-3 with his two-bagger as the Falcons (6-4) led 10-0 after two innings.
“I was really pleased with the way we came out and got after it,” Coudersport head coach Doug McClintic said. “We were patient, but aggressive at the plate and we were able to put a bunch of runs on them.”
Cameron County got three runs back in the third courtesy of a two-run home run by Bryce Bauer and then a solo shot from Derek Rieder.
Aaron Wolfinger, Josh Stevens and Crosby combined on the mound for the Falcons, combining to give up the four runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. Adam Shaffer and Alex Umble took the mound loss for the Red Raiders.
Coudersport travels to county rival Oswayo Valley for a game Friday.

DUKE CENTER — Garren Black tossed a one-hitter for the Green Wave, as they were able to hold off the Terrors to improve to 8-2.
Black went the distance, striking out nine and walking two. The OV starter was perfect through five innings.
“He had a great outing,” O-E coach Jame Thomas said. “He was really tough. We were lucky to get the hit that we had.”
Garret Babcock roped an RBI triple, while Gage Babcock added two hits of his own.
Damen Palmer’s single represented Otto’s (7-2) lone hit in the ballgame.
The Terrors are back in action today when they host Smethport.
Brookville 11, Bradford 1, five inn.
BROOKVILLE — The Owls’ pitching staff had a rough day, as the Raiders were able to capitalize en route to a 10-run victory.
Despite out-hitting Bradford seven to five, Brookville took advantage of 11 walks.
“We walked way too many guys,” Bradford coach Andy Carlson said. “That was the story of the game. Our pitching staff didn’t give us a chance. It’s hard to win that way especially when you’re not scoring many runs.”
Kyle Kirk’s RBI single was the Owls’ only run of the game. Caleb Nuzzo (2-for-3) and Dan Manion (1-for-2) both notched doubles.
Brookville’s (4-7) Aaron Park went 2-for-4 with four runs driven in, while Seth Punkle added two RBI.
Bradford (3-6) will host Johnsonburg on Friday at Pitt-Bradford.
Port Allegany 6, Northern Potter 4
PORT ALLEGANY — Despite allowing just one hit, the Gators found themselves behind in the fourth inning. But five runs in the home half helped Port Allegany hold off the Panthers for its first win of the season (1-5).
David Talkington led the way with a 3-for-3 performance that included two RBI and a run scored. Howie Stuckey had a solid night as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Stuckey also closed the game out on the mound, striking out seven hitters in relief.
“We’re a young team,” Port Allegany coach Nate Zitnik said. “We’re starting four or five freshmen every night. There’s going to be some good and some bad. We let them capitalize on walks and gave them some extra outs. That’s never a recipe to win but luckily we swung the bats really well today.
“With young guys you can tend to over-coach. I tried to let the guys be in that big inning and I’m going to try to do more of that the rest of the way.”
Johnsonburg 7, Elk Catholic 4
ST. MARYS — Johnsonburg plated four runs in the third inning and that proved to be enough to hold off the Crusaders.
The Rams (9-2) got offensive contributions from several sources: Jacob Anderson (2-for-4), Austin Green (1-for-4, two RBI), and Justin Kasmierski (1-for-4, double) all had solid days at the plate.
Kasmierski went the distance on the mound, allowing no walks in seven innings while striking out two.
Ryan Heary had a big night for ECC (6-3), going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Dan Stauffer added two RBI of his own for the Crusaders.
