COUDERSPORT — The Lady Falcons (8-1) put on a hitting clinic on Wednesday, scoring multiple runs in three separate innings to breeze past the Lady Red Raiders (7-3), 12-3, in Northern Allegheny softball action on Wednesday.
“Our goal is to put pressure on the other team,” Coudy coach Dan Counts said. “We had a lot of ground balls in the gap. We just hit a lot of nice, solid singles, and we were able to keep the ball down.”
Joplyn Osgood went a perfect 5-for-5 with a double. Chelsea Streich drove in four runs on three hits, while Emma Rae Easton went 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Coudy pitchers Madison Smith and Shaylyn Black combined for nine strikeouts and three walks.
“Our girls are starting to realize what we need to do to win,” Counts said. “That starts with putting the ball in play. We’re really seeing the ball well.
“I’m proud of the girls. They’re doing the little things.”
Coudersport will visit Oswayo Valley on Friday.

Smethport 4 vs. Galeton 3
SMETHPORT –– “Errors and aggressive baserunning.”
That’s how Smethport softball head coach Jon Peterson described his team’s narrow victory over Galeton. The Lady Hubbers (3-5) won despite Makaya Shadle solid pitching effort.
Shadle allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters. However, Galeton committed eight errors.
“It was a defensive game,” Peterson said. “Shadle is the best pitcher we’ve faced all year. She had a really good game. We found a way to win.”
Olivia Goodwill and Abbey Woodard each went 1-for-3 for Smethport, as Emily Treat (six hits, one strikeout, three walks) earned the pitching victory. With the tying runner on first base in the top of the seventh, Treat got a Galeton player to ground into a game-ending double play.
