WHEN: Reader Robert Yancosek of Hazel Hurst called to see if we’d heard of any hummingbirds in the area yet.
“I’ve had my feeder up for two weeks and I haven’t seen a bird,” Robert said. “Maybe it takes longer for them to find us in little old Hazel Hurst than it does in the big city of Bradford,” he added with a laugh.
We haven’t seen any either. Readers?
Robert assured us that other feathered friends are making an appearance.
“The red-winged blackbirds are back. I’ve been feeding them,” he told us.
“When I do see a hummingbird, I’m going to mark in on my calendar so I know when they come back.”
Good idea.
IN MOTION: Dan Slade Sr., a resident at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center, enjoys writing poetry and wanted to share this one.
“Poetry In Motion 5”
There will be no dark valley
When Jesus Christ I see
There will be no dark valley
When Jesus comes for you and me
There is a great day coming
Just you wait and see.
There will be no dark valley
For you and for me
Just stepping in the light of our Savior
There will be no dark valley
For you and for me
There is a great day coming
Just you wait and see.
There will be no dark valley
For you and for me
God will scatter the night
And keep darkness away
There is a great day coming
Just you wait and see.
TRAIN WRECK:A few people have contacted us about the train wreck photo that was in the April 20 column.
We’ll share some of what we’ve found out on Thursday.
