KANE — Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane has announced the winners of its National Library Week Essay Competition.
Kylie Boylan took first place in the Primary division for grades kindergarten through second, and Bria Brzezinski earned an honorable mention.
In the elementary division for third through fifth grades, Sienna Conklin came in second, with Kylie Iak and Chase Hultman as honorable mentions.
Mary Kumah earned first place in the middle school division for sixth through eighth grades. Honorable mentions were Branden Bentley and Aldin Payne.
Monetary awards will be presented to the first place and honorable mention winners during a reception at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the library.
In addition to the first place and honorable mention awards, there will be gifts for all the students who entered the contest and attend the reception. Students, friends and family members are invited to come to the library to enjoy the evening of awards and refreshments.
