A Bradford woman is in McKean County Jail on allegations she broke into a neighbor’s home, threatened her with a knife and assaulted her early Tuesday morning.
Amie Jo Alcock, 34, of 32 Florence St., Apt. 1, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Richard Luther on two counts of burglary and one count of aggravated assault, all first-degree felonies; two counts of criminal trespassing, both third-degree felonies; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct, all third-degree misdemeanors, court records stated.
Alcock told police that her window was broken, and, believing that Samantha Hinchman broke it, allegedly went to Hinchman’s home, shouldered her way inside and hit her in the face several times, according to court records. Then Alcock walked home.
Hinchman told police there were several friends at her home when Alcock allegedly walked in, said she was going to kill her, threw her to the floor and punched her several times.
“As Alcock was going back to her residence she was screaming in the street she was going to kill Hinchman,” court records state.
A witness who was at Alcock’s residence said that after Alcock was returned home, she allegedly grabbed a knife and said “she was going to kill Hinchman by slitting her throat,” court records state. The witness got the knife away from Alcock, but Alcock then ran to the kitchen while the witness went to Hinchman’s home to warn her of Alcock’s intentions.
Back at Hinchman’s residence, Hinchman allegedly heard Alcock trying to break down the front door, saying she was going to kill Hinchman. Her dining room window opened, and she allegedly saw Alcock stick a knife through the window, again stating she was going to kill her and slit her throat. Moments later, Alcock allegedly broke through the front door and was stopped by witnesses, according to court records.
Bradford City Police were dispatched to the scene at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday.
When police were later interviewing Alcock in the holding cell at the Bradford City Police Station, she told them she had a knife and said several times that she wanted to kill Hinchman, court records stated.
Alcock was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail, and she is scheduled to appear in Central Court on April 27.
