A Bradford man was charged Tuesday after leading police on a chase on an all-terrain vehicle Easter Sunday.
James Michael Durnein, 20, of 10 Edwards St., is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and flight to avoid apprehension, third-degree felonies; and several summary offenses including driving on Main Street and on the railroad tracks on an ATV.
According to court records, at 6:46 p.m. Sunday, Durnein was operating a four-wheeler on Main Street and failed to stop for police. Police followed him, at which time he allegedly drove down the railroad tracks. The ATV was not registered or insured, and Durnein allegedly rode it onto private property owned by the railroad.
He was apprehended Tuesday and arraigned before on-call District Judge Rich Luther. He was released after posting $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court April 27.
