SINNEMAHONING — As overall work continues, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reopened a Cameron County bridge on Wykoff Run Road (Route 2001).
The bridge spans a branch of Wykoff Run in Gibson Township, about 1 mile northeast of the Quehanna Highway (Route 2006) intersection. With the new bridge in place, PennDOT can remove it from Cameron County’s structurally deficient list.
PennDOT has also removed the 38-mile detour for the project. That detour used Wykoff Run Road, Quehanna Highway, Route 555 and Route 120.
Remaining work will take place under traffic, with total completion expected by April 21. On average, almost 400 vehicles move through this area each day. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $500,000 project.
