LIMESTONE, N.Y. — The body of a man missing for nearly a month was found Sunday.
Scott. A. Wolcott, 50, of Limestone, was found dead Sunday evening in a pond somewhere near his Leonard Run Road home, Cattaraugus County Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb told the Times Herald Monday. Deputies, who are awaiting a toxicology report, believe Wolcott died of accidental drowning.
“It certainly looks like an accidental death,” said Whitcomb, who was unsure who found Wolcott’s body, “and there’s no reason to believe foul play was involved.”
Wolcott was last seen at about 3 a.m. March 16 at his home, where he lived alone, authorities said. He was reported missing March 18, and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office announced its investigation into Wolcott’s whereabouts March 24.
Wolcott worked at Zippo Manufacturing Co. in Bradford, Pa., authorities said.
