KANE — Charges have been filed against a 32-year-old man who was accused of striking another man while driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
According to Kane-based state police, they were investigating an incident in which a person was found to be lying along Route 155 near Birch Run Road in Liberty Township.
Police learned that after an argument between a 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, the 32-year-old man, who was under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, struck the other man with his vehicle.
The extent of the victim’s injuries, if any has not been released.
The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault, DUI alcohol or a controlled substance, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving and reckless driving, police reported.
Police did not release the names of either the alleged victim or suspect.
However, a court docket filed online shows that state police have filed similar charges against Eric Culver, 32, of Port Allegany, for an incident Saturday in Liberty Township.
Culver was arraigned early Sunday morning before District Judge David Engman and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to court records. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
