KANE — A Bradford man is facing drug delivery and weapon possession charges after a traffic stop Saturday in Bradford Township.
Kane-based state police reported that at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle driven by Lucas J. Rice, 21, of Bradford, was pulled over for vehicle code violations. During the stop, police allege they discovered that he possessed a concealed Glock pistol, brass knuckles, four containers of marijuana, one marijuana dab and several items of drug paraphernalia.
Police did not say how much marijuana Rice allegedly possessed.
Police say they determined that Rice was driving under the influence of a controlled substance as well.
Additionally, a 16-year-old male from Bradford who was with Rice allegedly possessed a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Rice was arraigned before District Judge David Engman on charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; firearms not to be carried without a license, a third-degree felony; possession of an offensive weapon, a first-degree misdemeanor; possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of DUI controlled substance, all misdemeanors, court records stated.
He also faces the following summary charges: registration card not signed, failure to carry a license, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, turning movements and required signals, speeding, careless driving and failure to use a safety belt, according to court records.
Rice was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, and he is slated to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the 16-year-old juvenile was taken to the state police barracks in Kane, where he was processed on charges filed through McKean County Juvenile Probation, then released to a guardian, police stated.
