CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has lowered the speed limit on a section of Route 155 in McKean County.
The speed limit on Route 155 from the Two Mile Restaurant to just south of Dunbar Crossing Road had been 55 miles per hour. On Thursday, the speed limit in this area was posted to 45 miles per hour, which extends the section of Route 155 that is posted for 45 miles per hour.
PennDOT made the speed limit change after completing a speed study. Crash history was a factor in making the change.
The new speed limit is legally posted and drivers are reminded that the new, lower speed limit is enforceable.
