ST. MARYS — Ashton McGriff tripled with a relay win and Brooke McGriff added one individual win and ran on two relays to help Bradford High race by St. Marys, 92-57, Wednesday afternoon.
Ashton McGriff earned an individual triple, winning the 200, 300 hurdles and high jump, while also earning a first-place in the 1,600 relay. Brooke, meanwhile, won the 100 hurdles while also running in the 400 and 1,600 relays.
Other individual winners for Bradford were Abby Coffman (shot put), Sophia Oliver (discus), Logan Sunafrank (javelin), and Alexis Huber (pole vault). The 400 relay consisted of Brooke McGriff, Huber, Payton Kloss, and Regan Johnson. Both McGriffs, Johnson, and Sunafrank made up the winning 1,600 relay.
“It was a good meet for us,” coach Larry Still said. “Ashton, Regan, and Payton all ran hard. Ashton’s time in the 200 and Regan’s time in the 100 were very fast for this early in the year. Sophia’s distance in the discus was very good and Alexis had another good night in the pole vault. Our distance runners all ran well against tough competition.
Overall a good start to the dual meet season.”
St. Marys’ individual winners included Anna Kleppinger (100), Amanda Foster (400, 1,600, 3,200), and Sierra Nunamaker (long jump, triple jump).
Bradford will compete at the Harbor Creek Invitational on Saturday.
