A Conway, South Carolina, woman is facing allegations she assaulted a nurse in the emergency room at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
At 9:33 a.m. Tuesday, Bradford City Police were dispatched to the emergency room and arrested Pamela Jeanette Hoffman, 45, of 1352 Wagon Wheel Court, for punching a female nurse in the face, said a press release from police.
“Hoffman became violent when she was not given ‘morphine’ as she requested,” the release read.
Court records indicated she was shouting that was going to punch and bite the nurses and tried to do so. Officers had to restrain her legs and use physical force to get her in custody, and a spit mask was put on her because she was allegedly threatening to spit on people.
Hoffman is a heroin user and wanted morphine to lessen her withdrawal symptoms, court records indicate.
She was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge, court records stated.
She was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, and she is scheduled to appear in Central Court on April 13.
