A Bradford man who allegedly broke into his former girlfriend’s residence to steal her rent money has been sent to McKean County Jail.
John Lekas, 20, of 33 Walker Ave., is charged with burglary, a first-degree felony; receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking, first-degree misdemeanors; and trespassing, a summary offense.
According to court records, on Saturday, Lekas allegedly entered the Jackson Avenue residence of his ex-girlfriend by kicking in the door, caused damage inside the residence and took $480 in cash. He texted his former girlfriend after the alleged incident and told her “good luck paying your bills,” court records state.
Lekas was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
