WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson urges high school artists in his 5th Congressional District to submit their work for possible display in a special exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.
“This is a great opportunity for young artists to have their talents critiqued by an independent panel of professional artists,” Thompson, R-Pa., said. “The winner of the (5th District) competition will have the honor of displaying their work in Washington, where it will be seen by countless visitors to the U.S. Capitol throughout the year.”
All entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. April 27. The winner will be announced at a reception and public showing of all entries at 2 p.m. April 29 at the Winkler Gallery of Fine Art in DuBois.
All entries must be two dimensional, no larger than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall and 4 inches thick, weigh no more than 15 pounds and be original in concept, design and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws.
