The event, titled “Arts on the Island,” will feature the work of various artisans and crafters. Additionally, food will be available for purchase and a wide variety of local musicians will perform. Applications for vendors are already being accepted.
All items for display must be handmade or hand-authenticated. No commercial products will be accepted. Examples of acceptable artwork include fine art, high-quality crafts, limited high-quality prints and photography.
The MCHS organizers hope this will become an annual event. Therefore, admission to the public will be free this first year.
The price of a 12-by-12-foot space will be $25 per day. Electricity may be obtained for an additional $5 per day. Vendors who wish to participate may obtain and submit applications to the Old Jail Museum in Smethport. Direct all enquiries to Flo Carter or Lu Vandermark at (814) 887-5142 or through mchsmuseum@verizon.net.
The deadline for all paperwork will be May 15. To secure a spot, all applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
