SMETHPORT — A Rew woman was found guilty of simple assault by a jury Wednesday in McKean County Court stemming from a 2015 incident.
Alyson Moore, 42, was charged with simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and harassment, a summary charge. Court records filed at the time Moore was first charged indicated she punched a 16-year-old girl in the head and kicked her in the back while she was on the ground.
Moore was convicted today following a two day trial, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said Wednesday. Assistant District Attorney Sean Barrett prosecuted the case.
Moore is free, having posted $5,000 bail. She is scheduled to be sentenced April 27.
