The Potter County Education Council announced the annual Potter Annual Potter County Career/Job Expo for local high school juniors and seniors will be held April 20 at the Northern Potter Field House in Ulysses.
Local and regional businesses, industries and employers—small and large—are invited to meet with local juniors and seniors concerning the variety of local careers and job opportunities that are available to youth in the region. Businesses need not have current job openings to participate, just a willingness to help educate youth in potential local careers.
This event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Set-up time will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. There is no cost for employer participation, but participants are asked to pre-register with Janine Morley at the Education Council at 814-274-4877 by April 12.
This opportunity is sponsored by the PCEC Business Connect Program, Local Career Vocational Mentor Aides and funds provided by Potter County Commissioners and Potter County Human Services.
This activity is part of an ongoing initiative in local schools to help each senior graduate from high school with a definite, written plan for their future vocational direction, whether it involves additional education or a direct path to the workforce.
