A viewing of the documentary “Honor Flight” is set for 7 p.m. March 28 in the Bradford Area High School auditorium.
The event, free and open to the public, is presented by the BAHS Social Studies Department in conjunction with Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight.
The organization is helping local people plan an Honor Flight for Bradford-area veterans, which will leave May 6 for a trip to Washington, D.C. The group will visit places such as the World War II and other war memorials.
Preference is given to World War II veterans, then other veterans.
The program raises money in the community to fund the trips for veterans, which have costs including flights, bus and escort and meals.
The movie “Honor Flight,” by filmmaker Dan Hayes, chronicles one such flight organized in Wisconsin. The film features the stories of some of the veterans invited on the Wisconsin flight.
