SMETHPORT (EC) — The Smethport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a downed power line on Smethport’s South Side early Friday evening, but was recalled before arriving at the scene.
Spokesmen for the fire department and the borough electric department said people were cutting trees in the area of German Street, when a service line to storage sheds at the Rosehill Cemetery was downed. There was no interruption of service to borough customers.
Firemen responded at 7:11 p.m.
Smethport Borough’s Electric Department responded, along with the Smethport Borough Police Department and Smethport Fire Police.
