A Wilcox man was arraigned in Bradford Thursday on allegations that he possessed a designer drug during a traffic stop in November 2015.
Mitchell Steele Anderson, 21, of Blackberry Lane, is charged with a felony count of possessing a designer drug; two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana, misdemeanors; and a traffic summary offense.
According to court records, on Nov. 11, 2015, at 12:07 a.m., police stopped a car driven by Anderson after it failed to stop at a blinking red light at the corner of West Washington and Mechanic streets in Bradford. An officer stated that when stepped up to the window, he could smell the aroma of marijuana coming from the car’s interior.
When the car was searched, the officer found drug paraphernalia, marijuana and numerous pills, including bk-MDEA, or ethylone, court records read.
Anderson was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and released on $1,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court March 23.
