The Williams Agency of Bradford is partnering with CARE for Children and the Children’s Advocacy Center in hosting a supply drive Monday through March 31 to benefit the local children’s centers.
“CARE for Children and the Children’s Advocacy Center are the recipients of the drive that was spearheaded by Ashley Hatch and the Williams Agency,” Leslie Kallenborn, development and marketing coordinator at CARE, said. “The program is a supply drive where community members can donate much-needed children’s items that will most certainly be put to good use.”
Specifically, organizers of the drive are looking for children’s items that include coloring books, crayons, finger paint, journals, notebooks, children’s books, stress balls, tangle fidget toys and construction paper, Kallenborn said. And for every item donated, the Williams Agency will donate $1 up to $500.
“Once we see what all comes in, it’ll then be determined what items go to CARE for Children or The Advocacy Center based on the needs of each,” Kallenborn added.
CARE for Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children of all abilities.
“At CARE, all supplies will benefit our Early Learning Program of preschool and play group students,” Kallenborn said.
The Children’s Advocacy Center works to reduce trauma to children who have experienced abuse and their families by providing a safe and supportive environment through a collaboration of community agencies.
Kallenborn said the community can help by donating children’s items to the supply drive, or simply “spreading the word.”
“I think it’s a wonderful program that The Williams Agency brought to us, and we’re just so grateful to have been considered as a recipient for the drive,” she said. “This is CARE’s first time participating in a supply drive through The Agency, and we’re hopeful for a successful turnout that will positively impact the children of Bradford. It’s also a good way to do a little something to give back to nonprofits in the community, and that generosity is so very appreciated.”
Donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Williams Agency at 509 E. Main St.
