A Bradford man pleaded guilty to a simple assault charge with a lower grading than he originally faced.
Jeffrey M. Bartholomew, 45, of 94 Pleasant St., Apt. 2, pleaded guilty Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone to a charge of simple assault, a third-degree misdemeanor. He was ordered to pay fines and costs.
Court records filed at the time he was first charged indicated that on Feb. 7, Bartholomew walked into Country Fair in Bradford, start yelling at a woman, grabbed her by the throat and shoved her to the ground. He was charged at that time with second-degree misdemeanor simple assault.
Bartholomew, who has been incarcerated since Feb. 7, was released on Wednesday.
