The 47th annual Bradford USBC Youth Affiliate Association banquet was held Sunday.
Awards were presented for the annual Junior City Tournament, The Betty Dougherty Scholarship Tournament and the 2016-2017 City Awards.
The Junior Team event was held January 7-8. There are three classes based on average with each class divided into Boys, Girls and Mixed divisions.
There were seven teams representing five of nine divisions.
Winning the Class A Boys was Strike Force team, shooting a 2568 total. Members include Thomas Lemieux, Austen Davis, Dillion Cramer and Zander Koppenhaver.
The Class A Mixed was won by Team 5 with a 2622 total. Team members include Emily Snyder, Danielle Spring, Cameron Spring and Bart Snyder.
Winning the Class B Boys was The Pininators with a 1944 total. Team members include Brady Ervin, Jaydon Warnick, Michael Greenberg and Tripp Hoover.
Winning the Class B Mixed was The Dream Team with a 1927 total. Team members are Molly Snyder, Jillian Bell, Andrea Lipps and Mark Miller.
Winning the Class C Mixed was Maranda And the Boys consisting of Maranda Davis, Brett Skaggs, Alex Gangloff and Shawn Wilt. They had team total of 1685.
Individual winners in the Junior Team event for high scratch series are Prep Girl Sarrah Cox 409 (142), Prep Boy Brett Skaggs 457 (176), Junior Girl Emily Snyder 460 (183), Junior Boy Tripp Hoover 666, Major Girl Cameron Spring 703 (255) and Major Boy Bart Snyder 639.
Single High game winners in the Team event include Prep Girl Jaylee Koppenhaver 111, Prep Boy Alex Gangloff 140, Junior Boy Zander Koppenhaver 257, Major Girl Danielle Spring 189 and Major Boy Derrick Mangel 232.
The Junior Singles and Doubles event was held Feb. 4-5. There were six of eight divisions represented with 24 bowlers in the Singles Event.
Winning scores include handicap. They were Prep Girl Maranda Davis 721, Prep Boy Brett Skaggs 726, Junior Girl Emily Snyder 793, Junior Boy Jaydon Warnick 744, Major Girl Cameron Spring 733 and Major Boy Austin Reyes 746.
Individual scratch trophies for the Singles event include scratch series winners Prep Girl Sarrah Cox 355, Prep Boy William Snyder 379, Junior Girl Emily Snyder 568, Junior Boy Tripp Hoover 574, Major Girl Danielle Spring 568 and Major Boy Xander Edstrom 651.
Individual scratch trophies for the high single game in the Singles event include Prep Girl Jaylee Koppenhaver 117, Prep Boy Alex Gangloff 138, Junior Boy Zander Koppenhaver 212, Major Girl Andrea Lipps 177 and Major Boy Bart Snyder 245.
The Doubles Event has just three divisions – Girls, Boys and Mixed. The Girls division was won by Cameron Spring and Danielle Spring with a 1451. The Boys division was won by Brett Skaggs and Alex Gangloff with a 1511. The Mixed division was won by Irie Rose and William Snyder with a 1439.
Individual trophies for the Girl Doubles event are Cameron Spring high series with a 676 and Danielle Spring high game with a 220. In the Boys doubles division was Xander Edstrom 766 high series and Zander Koppenhaver 232 high game. Leading the Mixed division was Bart Snyder 675 high series and Austen Davis 184 high game.
The 2015 Betty Dougherty Scholarship Tournament was held March 4-5. This is a two-day, six-game event where our local Youth association gives out four $500 scholarships to eligible junior bowlers in 9th to 12th grade.
This year’s winners are Lily Lewis in the Girls scratch division, Kayla Amster in the Girls handicap division, Xander Edstrom in the Boys scratch division and Austin Reyes in the Boys
handicap division.
2016 Senior Class Honorees are: Kayla Amster, Molly Snyder, Danielle Spring, Xander Edstrom, Mark Miller and Bart Snyder.
The final award presented at the banquet is the Bruce Therminy Sportsmanship award. The winners this year were Molly Snyder and Xander Edstrom.
