Colette Roessler has been appointed as the adult programming and marketing coordinator for the Bradford Area Public Library, effective March 13.
Roessler will be responsible for all aspects of adult programming and outreach, as well as creating a comprehensive marketing plan for the library. She will also be the library liaison for community groups and organizations such as One Book Bradford.
“We’ve been interested in creating a position to specifically focus on adult programming for a while now,” Executive Director Lacey Love said. “We’re thrilled to bring Colette on board, and we know she’ll do a great job at providing a variety of programming and opportunities for the Bradford community, as well as marketing all of the resources and services the library has to offer.”
In her part, Roessler said that the role of libraries is changing.
“We are moving away from being a place where people come in, check out books, and leave. Libraries are an integral part of the community where people meet, share, and learn from each other. I look forward to being part of this change,” Roessler said. “I am also looking forward to partnering with Pitt Bradford, the school district, community organizations, local businesses, and experts to create new and exciting adult programs for our community.”
Roessler has a diverse background that includes a multitude of programming, publicity, marketing and library experience. Her past positions include Main Street Manager for the City of Bradford, a publicist at Jampole Communications Inc., and membership coordinator of the Peters Health Science Library. She also is a member of the board of directors for the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as Bradford’s Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB).
