SALAMANCA, N.Y. — Residents are invited to spend one of these remaining chilly evenings warming themselves by fireside at Allegany State Park while listening to some great music.
This month’s “By the Fireside” performance is the final one of the season and features local musician Will Lowry.
“By the Fireside” will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 18 in the Red House Administration Building lobby.
Lowry has performed in a variety of settings, everywhere from local coffeehouses to large music festivals, from living rooms to Greenwich Village in New York City. He released his fifth album of original music in November 2016, titled, Colours & Lines.
With a background in folk, blues, and classical guitar Lowry is known for his unusual skill as a guitarist as well as his vocal style. His guitar sets the background for his singing of well-known songs and original compositions. Each song has a story, and, along with the music, the audience is likely to hear some interesting background. His rendition of cover songs is often accompanied by an unusual bit of guitar work or the addition of a harmonica. Often he will include a few of his original songs in the evening.
