EMPORIUM — A fire that damaged a structure at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday at 2203 First Fork Road in Grove Township has been ruled accidental, according to state police fire marshal, Trooper John Whitcomb.
No one was injured, Whitcomb stated.
Whitcomb reported the fire was caused by an “electrical fault within the exterior service wiring to the structure,” and it started in the southwestern corner. The owner is listed as James Lee Prock, 71, of Bassett, Va.
Whitcomb did not indicate what kind of structure the building was, but said damage was estimated at $21,000 and the building was a total loss.
The Sinnemahoning and Emporium fire departments extinguished the fire, and both departments assisted the state police fire marshal unit in the subsequent investigation.
