A Bradford man waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Richard Luther on allegations of stalking.
Matthew E. Kline, 29, is charged with criminal attempted criminal trespassing, a second-degree felony; stalking, a first-degree misdemeanor; two counts of loitering and prowling at night time, both third-degree misdemeanors; possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and summary charges of defiant trespassing and criminal mischief, court records stated.
Court records said Kline made several attempts from Oct. 11-12, 2016, to make contact with a female with whom he was not to have contact. Police warned him on Oct. 11 not to be on the premises of her home. Later that evening, her family had to remove him because he was allegedly prowling outside the home; then he called her repeatedly.
On the evening of Oct. 12, police were sent to her home because he was looking in the windows and trying to get inside, court records stated. He knocked on the door, and she opened it not realizing it was Kline. He allegedly tried to force his way inside; when that failed, he damaged a screen trying to get in through a window. He was gone when police arrived.
Police were called again that night when Kline returned and was looking in a window, and he was arrested and found to be in possession of a baggie of clonazepam, court records indicated.
Kline remains free on $40,000 unsecured bail.
