In response to the article of Feb. 24, Re: the Pitt cheerleaders, I commend Dr. Alexander for his insightful comments.
It is unfortunate that our National Anthem in verse three advocates the slaughter of innocent Americans. Athletes and students who do not support this song are very likely fine Americans who care deeply for our country. These brave people are reminding us that respect for all people regardless of race or creed should be a priority to Americans.
The flag is fine … the song is not.
