ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — For the second time this month, St. Bonaventure junior guard Matt Mobley has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference basketball Player of the Week. He shares the Feb. 20-26 weekly award with Rhode Island guard Jared Terrell.
Over the Bonnies’ two games last week, Mobley averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game. He was 12-30 from the field including 6-17 (.353) from three-point range. Mobley also was 21-24 at the free throw line.
Mobley was spectacular in the Bonnies’ 83-77 win at Saint Joseph’s last Wednesday as he led St. Bonaventure with 31 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. It was his fourth double-double of the season and first 30-point, 10-rebound game by a Bonnies player this season. Mobley was 4-9 from three-point range and 13-14 at the free throw line.
This past Saturday at the Reilly Center, Mobley scored a game-high 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three assists in an 80-77 win over Duquesne.
For the season, the Worcester, Mass., native is averaging 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He is the fourth-leading scorer in the A-10 and leads the conference in three-pointers with 83.
St. Bonaventure (18-10/10-6 A-10) visits Davidson on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
