SHINGLEHOUSE — A Genesee man was arrested on allegations he had indecent contact with a 6-year-old girl.
Timothy Lee Matteson, 58, of Genesee, is charged with indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors, all first-degree misdemeanors; indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of a person less than 16-years-old, both second-degree misdemeanors, court records stated.
Court records said between noon and 5 p.m. April 24, 2016, Matteson was riding on an all-terrain vehicle with a 6-year-old girl on an ATV trail near Rose Lake, Allegany Township, showing her wild pigs. During the ride, he allegedly touched her private area outside of her clothing, then told her not to tell anyone.
She was crying when she returned from the ATV ride and told her father that Matteson touched her, court records stated.
Her father confronted Matteson, and the confrontation eventually turned physical, with the father punching Matteson multiple times; Matteson did not report the confrontation to police, court records read.
Matteson was incarcerated in Potter County Jail in Coudersport in lieu of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
