KANE — The Kane Area High School cheerleaders competed in the Warren Extreme Emoji Challenge over the weekend and came home with two first place finishes.
Taking first in the varsity non-tumble and med/large varsity, the team got back on track from the competition at Clarion the weekend before. Nicole Brown also placed second in the varsity tumble off.
“It was nice to get back to winning after placing second in both divisions we entered at Clarion the week before,” said coach Chris Niklaus. “We have two events left before Cheer LTD Nationals and are progressing towards harder and more challenging skills to take to the national level.
“Our goals for this weekend in Sanborn, N.Y., are to prove to ourselves we can hit a routine on the floor without any major mistakes,” Niklaus said. “If we do that, the placings will take care of themselves.”
