KANE — Two men from Cattaraugus County, N.Y., are facing drug delivery charges stemming from a traffic stop in McKean County.
Kane-based state police reported that Brendan Charles O’Connell, 20, and Brent Tyler Hollamby, 20, were in a vehicle that was pulled over at 1:58 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Prentisvale Road in Eldred Township.
Police determined that O’Connell was driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and he possessed a large amount of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute it, though they did not say what drug they believe he was planning to sell.
Further, Hollamby, the passenger, was accused of possessing a drug, as well as paraphernalia, according to police.
Court records indicate that O’Connell, of Allegany, N.Y., is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of DUI: controlled substance, all misdemeanors; and the following summary charges: driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to carry a license, failure to notify change in address, careless driving and no rear lights.
Meanwhile, Hollamby, of Portville, N.Y., was charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, court records stated.
The pair was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Engman and committed to McKean County Jail in Smethport; O’Connell on $10,000 bail and Hollamby on $5,000 bail.
They are scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
