Bradford motorists are paying an average of $2.501 a gallon for unleaded, self-serve gasoline this week, according to the American Automobile Association Fuel Gauge Report.
Elsewhere across the region, the average price for gas stands at $2.540 a gallon, a drop of a penny from last week. AAA officials said the nationwide average price for gas is $2.28 a gallon, which is seven cents less per gallon on the month and an increase of 58 cents per gallon compared to this same date last year.
Gas prices have remained relatively steady the past month due to a well-supplied crude oil market. On Monday, the Organization of the Exporting Petroleum Countries (OPEC) released their monthly oil market report showing that participating countries implemented 90 percent of the agreed upon production cuts, which took effect on Jan. 1. Despite production cuts by OPEC, the market remains overfed due to increased U.S. drilling and production.
The following is a list of the average price of unleaded self-serve gasoline in various areas: $2.587, Altoona; $2.523, Brookville; $2.504, Clarion; $2.477, DuBois; $2.457, Erie; $2.579, Indiana; $2.555, Kittanning; $2.546, Meadville; $2.560, Pittsburgh; and $2.562, Warren.
