EDINBORO — Bradford High’s Ashton McGriff had a record-setting day at an indoor track and field meet Saturday.
McGriff won the 400-meter dash in a school-record time of 57.83, eclipsing her previous record from 2016 of 59.72.
Her time is the sixth fastest in the state.
“Ashton had an outstanding race,” BAHS coach Larry Stillman said. “She really put it all together.”
In the 60 dash, Regan Johnson was fifth (8.30). Johnson was sixth in the 200 (27.38).
Brooke McGriff was fourth in the 60 hurdles (9.72). Logan Sunafrank was 28th in the 400 (69.34).
In the 800, Destinee Deitz was 40th (3:02.85) and Conner Gracey-Dalton 43rd (3:10.15).
The 800 relay team of Mikayla Bond, Brooke McGriff, Gracey-Dalton and Sunafrank was 15th (2:02.95).
Abby Coffman took 12th in the shot put (30’1’’). Bond was 14th in the high jump (4’4’’).
In the long jump, Johnson placed 21st (14’2’’). Bond was 21st in the triple jump (29’8’’).
“It was an excellent day for the girls,” Stillman added. “Brooke had by far her best day of season in the hurdles with two very good races and qualifying her for the league championships next week.
“Regan put together three nice races and made the finals in the 60 dash against all upper class women. Abby had her third meet over 30 feet in the shot put and Mikayla had her season-best triple jump. Logan had a solid 400 race.
“We have a good group of athletes qualified for the TSTCA Championships next week at Edinboro.”
