KANE — Kane Area Elementary School is holding events for parents of children who will be eligible for kindergarten in the 2017-18 school year.
An information meeting will be held Feb. 27, then registration will be held on March 16.
From 6 to 6:40 p.m. Feb. 27, there will be an information session for parents in the elementary school multi-purpose room, followed by a meet and greet with the kindergarten teachers from 6:40 to 7 p.m.
Registration will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. March 16 at the school. Children with last names starting with A through M will be registered between 4 and 5 p.m., and children with last names starting with N through Z will be registered between 5 and 6 p.m.
To be enrolled, a child must be 5-years-old on or before Aug. 31.
Parents are asked to bring their child’s birth certificate, record of state-required immunizations and proof of residency to the registration event. Proof of residency can include a deed, a lease, a current utility bill, a current credit card bill, a property tax bill, vehicle registration, driver’s license or a Department of Transportation identification card.
