Round 10 in the 26th annual Bradford Businessmen’s Chess League competition at School Street Elementary School resulted in many upsets.
The Prestige Awards & Jewelry team lost its match against the Main Street Mercantile to drop into second place in the varsity division. The Main Street Mercantile took over the top spot. The Pharmacy at Union Square is in third.
In the junior varsity section, Dr. Gonzalez’ team still has a 3.5 point lead, although Dr. Gonzalez team lost its match. Lang Surveying continues in second, and Dexter’s Service Center is in third.
Gabe Wyant (captain for the Dr. Gonzalez team) took over first place after Mallory Whitlow (also on the Dr. Gonzalez team) lost her match against Rhys Kennedy and fell to second place. Peyton Haight (Lang Surveying captain) drew his bout to also tie for second. For third honors, it’s a three-way tie among Tim Mulcahy (captain for Drs. Rhinehart team), Rhys Kennedy (captain for Dexter’s team), and Aiden Ferguson (member of the Lang Surveying team).
Mike Jones (captain of the Main Street Mercantile team) maintained his lead in the varsity. Rob Ferguson (captain for the Pharmacy at Union Square team) is one point behind in second place, and Tamara Ferguson (captain for the Prestige Awards & Jewelry team) is in third.
