ULYSSES — The Northern Potter girls basketball team won a battle for second place behind Coudersport in the North Tier League, topping Otto-Eldred, 51-41, Saturday.
In the teams’ first of two meetings, the Panthers (13-2, 8-2) prevailed behind Gracie Hamilton’s 15 points and Kalie Cowburn’s double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Tory McCutcheon logged 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Otto-Eldred (10-6, 7-3) got 24 points from Camryn Thomas.

WARREN — Margo Loutzenhiser powered Warren (13-3) with 18 points.
Bri Wells netted 19 points to lead Bradford (1-16).

WESTFIELD — Leading 22-19 at halftime, Cowanesque Valley pulled away in the third quarter to deny Austin (0-16) a chance at its first win.
Jordan Brewer scored 11 points for Austin, while Brynn Williams paced Cowanesque Valley with 18.
