A pair of Kane and Portville, N.Y., players headline the first week’s release for the Big 30 Charities Classic.
Issac Walters and Frank Truden of Kane are two of the three Pennsylvania players who have accepted invitations to play in the Aug. 5 game in Bradford.
Walters, 6-1, 195 pounds, was a tight end/outside linebacker for the Wolves.
He will enlist in the Army after graduation and look to become an MP.
He was named to the AML all-star team.
In addition, he received three D-9 gold medals.
He considers it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in the Classic.
Walters’ hobbies include hunting, fishing, lifting weights and playing pool.
Truden, 5-9, 145 pounds, was a running back/cornerback for Kane.
He plans to attend Penn Tech in Williamsport for welding. While at school, Truden will play basketball.
His sports accomplishments are many. He was a member of the three-time D-9 championship teams at Kane and two-time AML champions. He was the named D-9 championship MVP.
In basketball, he was a member of the D-9 championship team and was named to the 2015 Christmas tourney all-tourney team.
In track, he placed second in the high jump at districts and 15th at the state meet.
Truden’s most memorable moment playing football was his three-touchdown game in the state
playoffs against Chestnut Ridge.
Joining the two Wolves is Elk Catholic’s Mitchell D. Cashmer.
Cashmer, 5-9, 190 pounds, was a center/tackle for the Crusaders.
He will attend Gannon University after graduation. He will work toward a degree in biology.
His athletic accomplishments include football captain, D-9 wrestling champion Class AAA team 2015, D-9 team runner-up 2016 and D-9 195-pound Class AAA individual runner-up.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, senior class secretary and a member of the student council.
Cashmer’s most memorable moment playing football was the D-9 semifinal game in 2016.
His hobbies include watching football and hunting.
The two Portville players accepting invitations for the Classic are Alexx Quattrone and Mathew Waugh.
Quattrone, 6-0, 190 pounds, was an offensive lineman/linebacker.
He plans to attend Ohio Technical College and major in welding and fabrication.
He was named a second-team all-star in football and placed third at the NYS Section 6 Class D tournament in wrestling.
Quattrone is an honor student, holding that distinction all through high school.
He said it has been a goal of his to play in the Classic.
His most memorable moments playing football were the times with his family at home after the games.
Quattrone’s hobbies include fishing, hunting and cutting wood.
Waugh, 5-11, 185 pounds, was a center/fullback/linebacker.
Waugh plans to enter the United States Armed Forces.
He is a scholar athlete and a member of the National Honor Society.
In 2016, he was named first-team league all-star. In wrestling, he was a 2016 Section 6 Class D champion at 182 pounds and named to the first-team all-stars.
His most memorable moments playing football were being able to play with his older brother.
Waugh’s hobbies include skiing, mountain biking and camping.
Joining Quattrone and Waugh on the New York roster is Pioneer’s Ben Kaczmarak.
Kaczmarak, 6-3, 240 pounds, was a two-way tackle for Pioneer.
He plans to attend college and study criminal justice. After college, he would like to return home and be a member of the local law enforcement team.
He received the lineman of the year award in football, was on a first-place basketball tournament team and was named all-team B South.
His most memorable moments playing football were meeting new people and growing a brotherhood with them.
Kaczmarak’s hobbies include playing sports and playing video games.
