KANE — A Thursday night fire at Raught’s Country Kitchen, 7076 Route 46 in Keating Township, was accidental in nature, according to state police fire marshal Cpl. Greg Agosti.
“Radiant heat from the boiler ignited dust and wood flooring material below the heating unit,” he reported. “Two juveniles were treated and released for smoke inhalation they incurred while attempting to extinguish the fire.”
Agosti explained the fire, which started about 8:15 p.m. under a gas boiler, was found by employees just after the restaurant closed for the night and caused an estimated $30,000 in damage. Raught’s Country Kitchen, formerly Myra’s restaurant, is owned by Sabrina Redmond of Smethport.
The restaurant is closed while repairs are being made.
