WARREN — A fundraiser will be held on Saturday during the Bradford versus Warren girls basketball game in Warren for the Evans-Krivak Gynecological Cancer Research Fund.

Susan Evans was a teacher at Bradford Area High School and is an ovarian cancer survivor.  Organizer Lisa M. LaVan called Evans an amazing teacher/mentor. LaVan said Susan Evans will be at the game with her husband, George, and is excited for the event. She wrote a book titled, “Don’t Write the Obituary Yet” which describes her fight against ovarian cancer.

LaVan said the proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the research fund that she and her doctor have started.

During the game, all concession stand profits will be donated to the fund. There will also be a 50/50 contest and a giveaway of a $50 gift certificate to Beef-n-Barrel in Olean, N.Y. LaVan said the Bradford High Girls Basketball Boosters will also make a donation and help that day.

“This is a great opportunity to unite our schools for a common cause and I am super excited,” LaVan said.
