A Coudersport man waived a preliminary Tuesday in Schuylkill County on indecent assault allegations.
Victor Dennis Cain, 53, was scheduled to appear for a hearing before Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier in West Penn Township, court records indicate.
Court records said a charge of unlawful contact with a minor-sexual offenses has been withdrawn, but Cain will now face charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13-years-old, a third-degree felony; and indecent assault without consent, a second-degree misdemeanor, in county court.
The Republican-Herald, a newspaper out of Pottsville, reported that Cain allegedly tried to bribe a 5-year-old girl with a lollipop in exchange for letting him touch her, then offered her a second lollipop in exchange for agreeing not to tell anyone.
Also, he allegedly asked her to touch him and tried to make her watch obscene videos, according to the Republican-Herald.
Cain remains incarcerated in Schuylkill County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The Pennsylvania State Police Megan’s Law website indicates that Cain was already a lifetime registrant as a sex offender at the time of the alleged offense in Schuylkill County. He was convicted on April 24, 1998, of aggravated indecent assault.
