A Bradford woman has been arrested on hindering apprehension and drug paraphernalia allegations.
Alexandra Cynthia Rose Farnsworth, 24, who has no permanent address listed in court records, was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge David Engman on charges of hinder apprehension-harbor or conceal and hinder apprehension-false enforcement officials, both third-degree felonies; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, court records stated.
Court records said at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Bradford City Police went to look for two wanted individuals who they believed were in an apartment above the New Keystone Bar at 425 E. Main St. The wanted individuals were a juvenile male who allegedly absconded from Adelphoi Village Detention Center in Latrobe/Saxman, where he had been held on first-degree felony charges; and Tate Hallock, who was wanted by Pennsylvania State Parole.
Officers went to Apt. 16, which Hallock was renting, and knocked on the door. The door opened about six inches, and officers could smell marijuana, court records stated. Police said “hello,” Farnsworth asked who it was, and they told her it was the police.
Farnsworth stepped out of the apartment and closed the door to talk to the officers; meanwhile, police could hear someone moving in the apartment.
Court records stated that officers told her they had warrants for the two males, and Farnsworth said there was no one in the apartment but she and her two cats. Police said they could hear someone, and she replied that nobody was inside. When police asked if they could check the apartment for the males, she said, “not without a search warrant.”
One officer left to get a search warrant while other officers secured the outside of the residence.
During their subsequent search, police found the wanted juvenile, whom they took into custody, as well as two metal pipes, a grenade-shaped pill/marijuana grinder, a scale, a cigarette container with pipe cleaning items, a baggie with marijuana residue, a suspected drug sale log and a cell phone, court records stated.
There was no indication that Hallock was found.
Farnsworth was committed to McKean County Jail in Smethport in lieu of $20,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
