Two local establishments have been fined for liquor law violations, according to the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement office in Erie.
The bureau reported that the Societa Mutuo Soccorso Maceratese at 194 Main St. in Bradford, was ordered to pay a $6,200 fine; and the Eldred Vet’s Club, RD 2 Route 346, P.O. Box 417, Eldred Township, was ordered to pay a fine of $200.
According to the bureau, the Societa Mutuo Soccorso Maceratese was issued an adjudication on Dec. 21, 2016, for allegations it failed to submit annual reports to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue from July 2, 2015, through June 24, 2016; it used funds collected from games of chance for unlawful purposes on Jan. 1, 2016; it failed to maintain correct records on its operation for two years prior to June 21, 2016, as called for under the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act; and it failed to maintain records complying with the Liquor Code and Title 40 of the Pennsylvania Code from June 22, 2015, through June 21, 2016.
Meanwhile, the Eldred Vet’s Club was issued an adjudication on Dec. 8, 2016, for possessing gambling devices or permitting gambling or lotteries, pool setting and/or bookmarking on the premises on the following dates in 2016: Feb. 20 and 28; March 6, 13 and 20; April 3, 9, 17 and 24; May 1, 7, 15 and 29; June 5, 12 and 26; July 2, 7, 17, 24 and 31; and Aug. 7, 20 and 25, the bureau stated.
Charges in both cases were brought before an administrative law judge, who imposed the fines.
