A Day Awaits, a Christian modern rock band that has opened up for Kutless Matthew West and other groups, will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at Open Arms Community Church in Foster Township.

The band will also lead the song portion of the regular Sunday services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Pastor Mike McAvoy shared the vision for hosting the band.

”We’re excited to provide this opportunity for our young people — and those young at heart —  to get out, have meaningful entertainment in a safe environment, socialize, and hopefully walk away encouraged and a better person,” he said.

The band, which is based out of Curwensville, plays its own material as well as popular contemporary worship songs.

The event is free, but a love offering will be taken.

Open Arms Community Church is located at 1289 E. Main St. in Foster Township, one mile north of Walmart.
