MOUNT JEWETT — A Veteran Resource Fair will be held from 5:30 to 7: 30 p.m. Jan. 18 hosted by the Mount Jewett VFW and American Legion at 61 E. Main St. in Mount Jewett.
Veterans and their families are invited to a free one-stop shop to learn about VA services and community resources available during the Veteran Resource Fair and Town Hall.
The town hall will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and people will be able to meet with Erie VA Medical Center leadership, who will answer questions and provide information.
At the resource fair, Erie VA Medical Center and McKean VA Clinic health experts will provide free healthy venison-friendly stew samples and recipes from an Erie VA dietitian and free blood pressure screenings for veterans eligible for VA services. Other professionals who will be on hand to answer questions are VA eligibility and enrollment representatives, VA Behavioral Health Clinic staff, Veterans Benefits Administration representatives, Erie Vet Center representatives, McKean County and Community Veteran service officers and CareerLink representatives.
Veterans who have never enrolled in VA health care are invited to bring their DD-214 service discharge papers to speak with an eligibility representative on site to see if they’re eligible for services.
