A Galeton man is facing charges in Luzerne County related to drug delivery from an alleged incident on Dec. 29, 2016, in Foster Township, Luzerne County.
Court records said John R. Malaczewski, 26, is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors; and exceeding the maximum speed limit by 10 mph, a summary charge. The case was filed by Fern Ridge-based state police in the office of Magisterial District Judge Daniel O’Donnell.
Court records indicate that Malaczewski is free, having posted bail of 10 percent of $25,000.
Hazleton-based newspaper “The Standard-Speaker” reported that police had stopped Malaczewski’s vehicle because he was speeding when they discovered he had cocaine in a compartment below the radio.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for today.
